A Middle Island man has been arrested for committing a lewd act at a Middle Island nature preserve.
On July 20, a woman was walking her dog on a path in Prosser Pines Nature Preserve, located at 67 Yaphank Middle Island Road. At approximately 8:45 a.m., Charles Hardy, 28, stepped out behind a tree and exposed himself. Following an investigation by Seventh Squad detectives, Hardy was arrested at his home located at 92 Artist Lake Drive in Middle Island on July 25 at 9:17 p.m.
Hardy is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
