Man on Probation Arrested after 22 Guns Allegedly Found in His Home

Suffolk County Police arrested a Lindenhurst man who was on probation after illegal firearms were allegdly discovered in his home. 

Suffolk County Probation Department officers conducted a search of Todd Pinnell’s residence, pursuant to his conditions of probation, on March 6 at 7:10 p.m. During the search, investigators discovered assault rifles behind a false wall inside the basement closet. First Squad detectives responded to the scene and recovered eight assault rifles, ten semi-automatic handguns, and four revolvers, as well as multiple ammunition feeding devises.  

Pinnell, 54, was charged with 47 total felony charges, comprised of 22 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (for possession with a prior conviction), 15 counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition Feeding Devices, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (for assault weapon possession), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the First Degree (for possession of ten or more firearms), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (for possession of five or more firearms).  

Pinnell was held overnight at the First Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District  Court in Central Islip on March 7.
