Nassau County police arrested nine males ages 13 to 19 for a disturbance that occurred in Valley Stream.
On February 19 at 4:35 p.m., officers responded to the Green Acres Mall, located at 2034 Green Acres Road East, for reports of a large disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed a crowd of approximately 100-150 juveniles allegedly yelling and refusing to leave the area. Eight male juveniles and one male adult were placed under arrest during the process of dispersing the crowd.
These include:
- a 13-year-old charged with Riot 2nd and Unlawful Assembly
- a 14-year-old charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
- a 15-year-old charged with two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Riot in the Second Degree and Unlawful Assembly
- a 15-year-old charged Attempted Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Reckless Endangerment of Property, Riot in the Second Degree, Unlawful Assembly and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fouth Degree
- a 15-year-old charged with Petit Larceny
- a 16-year-old charged with Riot in the Second Degree, Unlawful Assembly and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
- a 16-year-old charged with Riot 2nd and Unlawful Assembly
- a 16-year-old charged with Petit Larceny
- Keith Williams, 19, of Jamaica, charged with Riot in the Second Degree, Unlawful Assembly, Attempted Assault in the Third Degree and Endangering Welfare of a Child
All juveniles were issued appearance tickets and asked to return March 3 to Family Court. Williams was issued an appearance ticket returnable on March 3 to First District Court.
