Suffolk County police have arrested an 18-year-old after he allegedly stabbed and seriously injured a 19-year-old male in Selden.
Richard Torres allegedly stabbed a 19-year-old male during an altercation in the parking lot of 949 Middle Country Road at approximately 11 p.m. A friend of the victim drove him to an area hospital where he is in serious but stable condition.
Torres fled the scene in a 2015 Nissan sedan. A short time later, Sixth Precinct officers located the Nissan in Coram, initiated a traffic stop, and placed Torres in custody.
Sixth Squad detectives charged Torres, of Middle Island, with Assault in the Second Degree. He is being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 19.
