A person is dead after being hit by a car in Hempstead.
On January 21 at 8:02 a.m., a 64-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Peninsula Boulevard northbound when he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Tundra being operated by a 49-year-old male traveling southbound, making a left onto South Franklin Street. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained on scene and there were no other injuries reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
