Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a pedestrian was hit and killed in East Northport.
Pierino Liberta was crossing the roadway on foot from west to east in front of 332 Larkfield Road when he was struck by a northbound 2020 Subaru Outback on January 19 at approximately 10:50 p.m.
Liberta, 81, of Saint James, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver, Jack Sandin, 19, of Northport, was not injured. The Subaru was impounded for a safety check.
