Three people were arrested after they were reportedly found to have illegal drugs inside their vehicle during a traffic stop in Hewlett.
On January 18 at 3:31 p.m., Nassau County officers from the Bureau of Special Operation (BSO), while on routine patrol, observed a 2017 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Peninsula Boulevard changing lanes unsafely. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
After an investigation was conducted, the driver, Louis Wilson, 28, of Oyster Bay, was found in possession of a substance believed to be crack/cocaine and heroin. The passengers, Hasheem D. Foster, 36, and Ana Bonilla, 33, both of Hempstead, were also found to be in possession of a substance believed to be crack/cocaine and heroin. Additionally, Bonilla allegedly provided police with false information regarding her name. They were all placed under arrest without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Wilson and Bonilla allegedly committed a larceny at Ulta Beauty located at 3203 Long Beach Road, Oceanside on earlier that day at 12:10 pm.
Police charged Foster with six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Wilson was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
They were scheduled to be arraigned on January 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Additionally, police charged Bonilla with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and False Personation. She was released on an Appearance Ticket and is expected to return to court on February 9.
