Traffic Stop in Westbury Yields Two Arrests

Two people were arrested for gun and drug possession during a traffic stop in Westbury.

On January 16 at 9:11 p.m., while on routine patrol, Strategic Response Team (SRT) Officers in Nassau County observed a 2011 Kia Sorento traveling eastbound on Old Country Road with an inoperable taillight. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.

After an investigation was conducted, the operator of the vehicle, Natasha Celestin, 43, of Brooklyn was found in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine. The passenger, Saifuddin Abdus-Samad, 55, of Hempstead was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver along with a with a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine. They were both placed under arrest without incident.
