Picks up Two Endorsements on Long Island

Governor Kathy Hochul raised nearly $12 million in the January 2026 filing period, according to her campaign. The governor’s haul includes $5.45 million to her re-election campaign and $6.5 million to the New York State Democratic Party. The campaign will end this filing period with $20 million cash on hand, while the party committee will end this filing period with $12 million cash on hand.

“Across all 62 counties, more and more New Yorkers are showing their support for Governor Kathy Hochul’s fight to bring down costs, protect public safety, and build a better future for our kids,” said Friends for Kathy Hochul Campaign Manager Preston Elliott. “Right now Donald Trump is waging war on New York families, and Bruce Blakeman has made clear he won’t lift a finger to stop him — that’s why this campaign is laying the groundwork necessary to re-elect the governor, elect Democratic leaders up and down the ballot, and take back the House in November to keep our state safe from Trump’s relentless attacks.”

Just like last filing period, the money raised grassroots donations from throughout the state. Eighty-seven percent of all campaign contributions this filing period came from first-time donors. In addition, according to the campaign, the average donation was $124.

Meanwhile, Hochul picked up endorsements from two Long Island politicians: Hempstead Village Mayor Waylyn Hobbs, Jr. and East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Buke-Gonzalez.

Governor Hochul understands that strong villages and towns are the backbone of New York, and she has made it a priority to partner with local governments to get projects done,” Hobbs said.

Burke-Gonzalez added, “Governor Hochul is helping us move toward affordable and workforce housing so teachers, first responders, health care workers, town employees, and young families can continue to live where they work.”

“Long Islanders know that real representation means showing up and getting results — which is why we’ve delivered record investments in clean water, critical infrastructure, expanded public transit, and protecting Long Island’s coastline – and we’re just getting started,” Hochul said. “I’m proud to have their endorsement as we continue to build a stronger, safer, and more affordable New York.”

Long Island Life & Politics reached out to Bruce Blakeman’s campaign for financial information and a list of endorsements, but did not hear back as of press time.
