Man Arrested Following Road Rage Altercation

Suffolk County police arrested a man following a road rage altercation that occurred this week. 

On December 13, Wilson Torres and John Alston III were both traveling northbound on Broadhollow Road when the men engaged in a verbal road rage altercation with each other. At 7:25 a.m., both men pulled their vehicles to the side of the road and Alston III allegedly attacked Torres, allegedly strangling him before fleeing the scene in a 2018 Kia Optima. 

Torres, 41, of Massapequa, who was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Express van, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Following an investigation by Second Precinct  Investigative Unit officers and Second Squad detectives, Alston III, 50, of Central Islip, was arrested on  Park Avenue in Huntington on December 17 at 4:49 p.m. 

Alston III was charged with Strangulation in the Second Degree and Assault in the Third Degree. He was held at the Second Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 18. 

No charges were filed against Torres.
