Two people were arrested for allegedly shoplifting a necklace from an East Garden City store last month.
On November 24 at 3:51 p.m., Nassau County police responded to Neiman Marcus, located at 620 Old County Road, for a larceny. Two male suspects were observed via video surveillance allegedly manipulating a display case and taking a gold necklace valued at $7,665. The suspects allegedly passed all points of purchase without rendering payment and left in an unknown direction.
A thorough investigation led to the arrests of Victor Manuel Riveros Ruiz, 48, and Ludy Esperanza Ardila Mogollon, 49, both of 60-63 54th Street, Maspeth.
Police charged Riveros Ruiz and Ardila Mogollon with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. They were issued Appearance tickets returnable to First District Court in Hempstead. Both defendants are in the United States illegally and subject to removal proceedings. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents took custody of the defendants.
