Suffolk County Police arrested an employee of a Huntington bar for allegedly having illegal gambling on the premises.
In response to community complaints, Second Precinct Crime Section officers in conjunction with New York State Liquor Authority (SLA), Town of Huntington Fire Marshal, and Town of Huntington Ordinance Inspector conducted a SLA Inspection at Valencia Tavern, located at 236 Wall Street, on December 12 at 11 p.m. During the inspection, officers allegedly found envelopes with cash, betting records, and gambling pools.
The bartender, Nicole Sutera, was arrested for Disorderly Premise, an unclassified misdemeanor in the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Law. The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Town of Huntington Code Ordinance Inspector issued six combined Fire and Building Code Violations to the establishment. The SLA observed numerous violations and will be conducting a further investigation into the establishment
Sutera, 41, of Lindenhurst, was issued a Field Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on December 31.
