MTA Fraud: ‘When Will It All Stop?’

To the Editor:

It seems that, every week, there’s another article regarding the outrageous mismanagement and taxpayer rip-offs occurring at the MTA, and every week, someone is quoted as saying, “When will it all stop?”

As our Center for Cost Effective Government has been saying for years, the only way it will stop is if the MTA is placed under a financial control board. The solution is so simple, yet the media and our elected officials continue to ignore it,  naïvely wishing instead that the MTA will just improve itself on its own.

Good luck with that.
