A New Jersey man has been arrested for grand larceny after he allegedly offered home improvement services that he did not provide.

On April 25, 2024 at 12 p.m., a homeowner in Uniondale retained the services of a construction firm by the name of North Falcon Construction Company, located at 285 Avenue C, New York, NY.  The victim issued a check for $59,202.50, made payable to a man who claimed his name was Mohammed Ali.  This name turned out to be a false name and used as an alias by the defendant, now known as Zohaib Farrukh, 37, of 68 Redbud Road, Piscataway.  Farrukh allegedly cashed the check and the victim never received any services. The victim then called police after making numerous, unsuccessful attempts to contact him.

On November 22, 2025 at 3:15 p.m., Nassau County First Squad Detectives, with the assistance of First Precinct Officers, located Farrukh and placed him under arrest.

Police charged Farrukh with Grand Larceny in the Second Degree and Scheme to Defraud in the Second Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on  November 23 at First District Court in Hempstead.

Anyone who might have been a victim of the defendant is asked to contact their local precinct or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
