Islip Terrace Man Arrested for Allegedly Setting Restaurant on Fire

Suffolk County Police today arrested an Islip Terrace man for arson after he allegedly set a restaurant on fire in East Islip. 

On November 10, a 911 caller reported that Reilly Fibbers, located at 148 Carleton Ave., had been set on fire, at approximately 7:30 p.m. The restaurant was evacuated, and there were no injuries.  

Following an investigation by Arson Squad detectives, Paul Lucia was reportedly identified as the patron who had allegedly set the back area of the building on fire after he was asked to leave the restaurant. Police located Lucia in his vehicle, which reportedly had stolen license plates.  

He was transported to the Third Precinct, where he was arrested on November 21 at approximately 12:15 p.m.  

Lucia, 60, of 78 Lincoln Ave., was charged with Arson in the Second Degree and Criminal  Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree.  

Lucia was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 22.
