Search Warrant Yields Arrest for Drug Charges in W. Babylon

A West Babylon man has been arrested for allegedly possessing and selling drugs from his residence. This comes after New York State troopers from Troop L in Farmingdale obtained a search warrant for the premises.

Since August, members of the New York State Police Troop L Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) have been investigating ongoing narcotics sales in the West Babylon area. On November 14, members of the Troop L CSU with assistance from the Troop L Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), and Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU), arrested Johnathan Moore.

Moore, 48, was subsequently charged with the following:

  • one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, a Class A-I felony
  • three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine, heroin, stimulant) in the Second Degree, all Class A-II felonies
  • three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (synthetics) in the Fourth Degree, a Class C felony
  • seven counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B felony
  • two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the Second Degree, both Class A misdemeanors

State troopers seized approximately $150,000 in cash, 540 grams of rock that tested positive for crack cocaine, 188 grams of white powder that tested positive for cocaine, 120.3 grams of brownish powder that tested positive for heroin, 8.1 grams of powder that tested positive for U44770 (a Schedule 1 Stimulant), 11.8 grams of a powdery substance that tested positive for 2CE (a hallucinogen), 15.9 grams of a powdery substance that tested positive for 4-Fluoro-alpha-pvp (a stimulant), 12.59 grams of a substance that tested positive for 2CH (a hallucinogen) and narcotics paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials.
