Nassau County police and fire departments responded to a fire in Valley Stream that destroyed a barber shop.
On November 11 at 9:05 p.m., officers responded to Ben & Tony’s Barber Shop, located at 539 W. Merrick Road. Upon arrival, they observed a heavy smoke condition and flames emanating from the building.
The Valley Stream Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. Two vacant adjoining units sustained smoke damage.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
The fire has been deemed non-suspicious at this time.
