A homeless man was arrested for assault and resisting arrest after reports of a disturbance at a fast food restaurant in Lawrence.

On November 9 at 9:05 p.m., Nassau County Fourth Squad officers responded to a McDonald’s, located at 365 Rockaway Turnpike, for reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they located Jonathan Green, 37, who was asked to leave the location. Green complied and walked outside, but then allegedly attempted to go back in and allegedly refused the officers’ commands to stop.

A physical altercation then began, and two officers sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as Green allegedly became violent and combative while resisting arrest. Green and the two injured officers were all transported to nearby hospitals for assessment and treatment.

Police charged Green with two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct. He was arraigned on November 10 at First District Court in Hempstead.
