A Levittown man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist.
On October 26 at 11 p.m., a 59-year-old male was operating a 2009 Chevrolet westbound on North Jerusalem Road in the vicinity of Sherman Avenue where he was involved in a collision with a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Daniel Bliss, 63, of North Bellmore. traveling eastbound. Bliss suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the Chevrolet fled the scene on foot.
After a search and investigation, Patrick Thompson, 59, of 55 Slate Lane, was located nearby and placed under arrest without incident.
Police charged Thompson with Vehicular Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in a Fatality and Driving While Intoxicated. He was arraigned on October 27 at First District Court in Hempstead.
