
A Freeport man who is also wanted by the US. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was arrested for allegedly being in possession of counterfeit money in Uniondale.
On October 14 at 8:45 p.m., Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) officers were conducting an investigation on Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Bira Street. During the course of the investigation, Selvin Omar Ventura Velasquez, 27, was allegedly found to be in possession of counterfeit currency. He was placed under arrest without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined the defendant is in the United States illegally and is subject to removal proceedings.
Police charged Ventura Velasquez with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree. He was released on an Appearance Ticket and taken into custody by ICE agents.
