Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Another Man in Shirley

Suffolk County police arrested a man for allegedly shooting another man in Shirley. 

On October 9, a man walked up to the driver’s side window of a 2021 BMW parked in the driveway of a residence on Seymour Drive and allegedly shot a man sitting in the driver’s seat in the leg at approximately 1:35 a.m. A woman sitting in the front passenger seat was not injured.  

The man fled in a gray vehicle.  

After an investigation, Seventh Squad detectives arrested Edward Perry on Hoffman Avenue in Bellport, at approximately 3 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  

The BMW was impounded. 

Perry, 40, of Poospatuck Lane, Mastic, was charged with Assault in the First Degree. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on  October 10.
