
Steve Levy of Common Sense Strategies Will Be Guest Speaker
LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action) will have Steve Levy, the executive director of Common Sense Strategies (CSS), as its guest speaker on October 24 to address the topic “Can We Still Have a Civil Debate?”
This event will take place at the Candlelight Diner, located at 56 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack, starting at 8:30 a.m.
In addition to being with CSS, Levy is also the co-publisher of the newspaper, Long Island Life & Politics, and president of the Center for Cost Effective Government.
From 2004 to 2011, Levy served as Suffolk County executive from 2004 to 2011. While serving in that position, he recorded eight consecutive years of tax cuts and freezes.
Under his leadership, Suffolk saw a record investment in open space preservation and alternative energies, an unprecedented commitment to workforce housing, the creation or preservation of over 15,000 jobs through his economic development policies, and a reduction of over 20% in overall crime.
He also served as New York State Assemblyman from 2001 to 2003; before that, he was a Suffolk County Legislator from 1985 to 2000. In addition, he ran for governor.
Levy is also the author of two books: Bias in the Media and Solutions to America’s Problems. He is also co-host of the On The Right Side podcast. He has also had his opinion pieces published in various media outlets and appeared on numerous TV and radio shows.
