
Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that critically injured one of the drivers in Saint James yesterday.
On October 5, Kerwin Mendoza-Semprun was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry while exiting a commercial driveway located at 594 Middle Country Road and making a left turn to the westbound lanes when his vehicle was struck by an eastbound 2002 Jeep Cherokee at approximately 5:35 p.m.
Mendoza-Semprun, 31, of Brentwood, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Nesconset Fire Department, where he is being treated for critical injuries. The driver of the Jeep, Alexander Freise, 18, of Farmingville, was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
