Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in East Moriches.
On September 22, Gretchen Altman was driving a 2024 Tesla Model Y westbound on Montauk Highway when she attempted to make a left-hand turn into a driveway and collided with a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle being operated eastbound at 1:47 p.m.
The operator of the motorcycle, William Alaimo, 24, of East Moriches, was transported via ambulance to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk for treatment of serious physical injuries. Neither Altman or a juvenile passenger in the Tesla was injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
