Man Arrested for Illegal Street Race in Port Jefferson

(Photo Courtesy of SCPD) This 2010 Ford Crown Victoria was seized by Suffolk County police after Adam Tuzza was arrested for his alleged participation in an illegal street race.

Suffolk County Police arrested a man who allegedly engaged in an illegal street contest last month in Port Jefferson.  

Two vehicles were observed performing donuts and burnouts at the intersection of West Broadway and  Main Street before speeding away on August 26 at approximately 10:50 p.m. 

Following an investigation by the Sixth Precinct Investigative Unit in conjunction with the Street Takeover Task Force, Adam Tuzza was identified as one of the drivers. He was located while in his vehicle on Nesconset Highway in Terryville and taken into custody by members of the task force on  Saturday, September 14 at approximately 9:25 p.m.  

Tuzza, 20, of 12 James Way, Middle Island, was charged with Unlawful Speed Contest/Side Show and  Reckless Endangerment. His vehicle, a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, was seized. Tuzza will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
