Queens Man Arrested for Theft at Jewelry Shop

A Queens man has been arrested for allegedly stealing from a Massapequa jewelry shop.

Nassau County officers from the Seventh Squad responded to a call of a larceny at Collectors Corner Coins and Jewelry, located at 400 Sunrise Highway. Upon arrival, it was determined that Adam Cornel, 47, of 80-12 Park Lane South, Woodhaven, allegedly took a watch valued at $22,000 from a table and concealed it in his bag. He was placed under arrest at scene without incident. Cornel was also found to allegedly be in possession of a fraudulent identification.

Police charged Cornel with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in. the Second Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on September 10 at First District Court in Hempstead.
