Levittown Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Mail

A Levittown man was arrested for allegedly stealing mail from the post office in Wantagh, where he worked.

On September 4 at 2:27 p.m., Nassau County officers from the Seventh Precinct responded to the United States Postal Office located at 1250 Wantagh Avenue for a larceny involving an employee. Upon arrival, police were informed that the employee’s vehicle contained parcels of mail that did not belong to him. During the investigation, officers allegedly observed mail on the back seat of the employee’s vehicle and, after a thorough investigation, Daniel Schultz, 40, of 232 N Bellmore Road, was arrested without incident.

Subsequent to the investigation, Schultz was allegedly found to be in possession of a clear plastic bag with a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

Police charged Schultz is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, three counts of Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree and Criminal Tampering in the Second Degree. He will be arraigned on September 6, at First District Court in Hempstead.
