Nassau County police and Oyster Bay constables responded to two water emergencies in one afternoon.
On August 30 at 3:07, 911 received a call for a 57-year-old male onboard his boat having a cardiac episode. A Town of Oyster Bay Constable located the victim and transported him to the Jones Beach Theater, where he was airlifted via Nassau County Aviation Helicopter 5 to a local area hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Later that day at 5:57 p.m., 911 received a call for a jet ski hit by a wave, ejecting all three occupants. Marine 7, along with the Town of Oyster Bay Constables, responded and located the three individuals and the jet ski. Both crews were able to assist the three people and the jet ski back to safety. Two victims refused medical attention and a 32-year-old male was transported to a local area hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
