Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives, in conjunction with the National Park Service, are investigating the death of a man who jumped from the Fire Island Lighthouse this afternoon.
Marine Bureau officers responded to the Fire Island Lighthouse after a 911 caller reported a man had jumped from the observation deck at approximately 1:45 p.m.
The man’s identity has yet to be determined. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
