Queens Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Credit Cards

A Queens man was arrested after he was caught allegedly trespassing and in possession of stolen property in Roslyn.

On July 30 at approximately 3:51 a.m., Sixth Precinct officers responded to a call about a suspicious person wearing a dark facial covering and shining a flashlight into parked vehicles along Northern Boulevard.

When officers arrived, the suspect allegedly fled on foot. With assistance from the Nassau County Police Canine Unit and a department helicopter, officers located and apprehended the man a short time later.

Police identified the suspect as Alex Hines, 53, of 13429 228th Street in Laurelton, Queens. During the investigation, officers discovered that Hines was carrying a wallet containing credit cards that allegedly did not belong to him.

Hines was transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment. He was later charged with criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree criminal trespass, and violating the Mask Transparency Act.

He was released on a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on August 13.
