Lake Success Man Arrested for Weapons Possession, Violating Parole

Nassau County Sixth Squad detectives arrested a Lake Success man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon at his house and for violating the terms of his parole.
Success.
On July 24 at 9:12 a.m., the Nassau County Probation Department conducted an investigation at 14 Fairview Drive where Gregg S. Banwer, 58, lived. He was placed into custody without incident for allegedly violating the conditions of his probation.Subsequent to the investigation, officers executed a search warrant and recovered ammunition, high-capacity magazines, edged weapons and assorted M Type cardboard devices containing energetic material from a storage unit at Westy Storage, located at 2400 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park.

Police charged Banwer with 10 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, 12 counts of Violation of Probation, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree and one count of Storage of Explosives. He was scheduled to be arraigned on July 25 at First District Court in Hempstead.
