Man Wanted for Robbery during Valley Stream Crash

Nassau County detectives from the Fifth Squad are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a woman’s cell phone after a collision in Valley Stream.

On July 24 at 2 p.m., a 67-year-old female victim was operating a 2024 Hyundai northbound on Mill Road near the intersection of Sunrise Highway when she was involved in a minor collision with a black SUV. Both drivers exited their vehicles and the victim informed the driver of the SUV that she will be calling the police to file a report and proceeded to take pictures of the incident. The other driver, an unknown male subject, allegedly grabbed the victim’s cell phone from her hand and pushed her to the ground, causing minor injury.

The subject re-entered his vehicle and allegedly fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone traveling northbound on Mill Road. He then made a right turn onto Sunrise Highway traveling eastbound. The victim refused medical attention at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

The subject is described as a Black male, bald, in his 40s wearing dark pants and a beige shirt.
