Brookhaven Town Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich has announced that a glass recycling site in the Stony Brook/Setauket area has been relocated. In partnership with the Three Village Central School District, glass recycling is now available to all Brookhaven residents at 200 Nicolls Road in Stony Brook. The glass recycling bins were relocated from the Setauket Fire Department, which is no longer part of the program.

“Our district is committed to recycling as much as we can to safeguard the future of our environment,” Kornreich said. “I thank the Three Village Central School District for partnering with the Town to bring this service to the community.”

The conveniently located drop-off on Nicolls Road is one of fifteen glass recycling sites throughout the Town of Brookhaven. Other glass recycling sites in the area include West Meadow Beach, Percy Raynor Park, and the New Village Recreation Center.

Only glass bottles and jars are accepted at the Town’s drop-off locations. Plate glass, mirrors, ceramics, and other large glass items should follow the Town’s bulk collection rules.
