
Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Bay Shore.
Thomas Lawless was driving a 2023 Dodge Ram southbound on 4th Avenue on July 18 at 8:30 a.m., when he was turning left onto East Main Street and struck a pedestrian in the middle of the intersection.
The pedestrian, Mary Frederick, 88, of Bay Shore, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries. Lawless, 63, of Deer Park, was uninjured.
The Dodge was impounded for a safety check.
