
Six people were safely rescued after their boat encountered trouble off the coast of Bayville.
On July 14 at approximately 9:55 p.m., the Nassau County Police Marine Bureau’s Marine 11 unit picked up a distress call over VHF radio concerning a 21-foot vessel with six individuals aboard. Responding immediately, Marine 11 and officers from the Town of Oyster Bay Constables located the boat and its occupants.
Authorities were able to guide the vessel and all six individuals back to shore without further incident. No injuries were reported at the scene.
According to NCPD, the incident was not weather- or storm-related.
