The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a residential fire in Lawrence that may have been caused by a lightning strike during a recent storm.
On July 1, at approximately 6:40 p.m., police responded to a home on Juniper Circle North where they observed flames coming from the rooftop.
Fire crews from the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, along with neighboring departments, quickly brought the blaze under control. All occupants had safely evacuated by the time officers arrived, and no injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad later determined the fire to be non-suspicious and possibly linked to lightning activity in the area.
