A 17-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck at a busy intersection in Babylon.
Robert Buerkle, of West Babylon, was riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on West Main Street when he was struck by a 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck making a left turn from Tappan Avenue on July 1 at approximately 3:08 p.m.
The driver of the pickup truck, Victor Hansen, 84, of Babylon, was not injured in the crash.
Buerkle was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the squad at 631-854-8152.
