Uniondale Man Arrested for Alleged Explosives, Drug Possession

A Uniondale man for Possession of Explosives  and Possession of Drugs during a traffic stop in Westbury.

On June 29 at 3:18 p.m., Bureau of Special Operations Officers observed a grey 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Max Zepeda Villata and traveling southbound on Post Avenue with non-transparent window tints. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.

During the investigation, officers observed a large number of fireworks located on the rear seat and arrested Villalta, 20, of 997 Uniondale Avenue.  He was also allegedly in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

Villata allegedly became combative and violent while being processed and a struggle ensured with officers, but he was eventually subdued.

An officer suffered an injury to his lower back, causing substantial pain.

Villalta is charged with Possession of Explosives without a License, Storage of Explosives, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Assault i the Second Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and multiple traffic infractions.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 30 at First District Court in Hempstead.
