We’ve been shouting from the mountaintops for years that the best way to prevent a mass shooting in a school, church or other congregate setting is with armed security guards.
Armed intruders must be met immediately within seconds. Only armed security on the premises can do that. It’s usually far too late to wait for the police to come, even if they’re doing their best and get there five to 10 minutes after the attack begins.
On June 22, a person in a flak jacket and rifle was charging toward the church in Michigan when a fellow parishioner hit him with his pickup truck and an armed security guard fatally shot him.
It’s common sense. Why do we have so many leaders illogically continuing to say that having armed security guards will escalate violence?
It’s crazy talk.
The Michigan church event is proof that we need professional armed guards at our schools. It will save lives.
