3-Car Collision in Woodmere Leaves One Dead

One person is dead after a car collided into two other vehicles in Woodmere.

On June 6 at 9:05 a.m., a 78-year-old woman was operating a 2024 Mercedes, traveling eastbound on West Broadway in the vicinity of Howard Avenue, when she collided with a 2024 Honda SUV also traveling eastbound. The driver of the Mercedes then lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn. While overturning, the Mercedes then collided with a 2024 Nissan Rogue.

The passenger of the Mercedes, an 82-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic, and the female driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old woman,was not injured. She was accompanied by her infant child, who was also uninjured but was transported to a pediatrician by a family member. The driver of the Nissan, a 33-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
