The latest whopper coming from the legacy media is their claim that U.S. citizen children are being deported. This is blatantly false.
The government was deporting the illegal immigrant parent. The parent was free to leave the children here in the U.S. with relatives. The children would not, and could not, be deported without the approval of the parent. Ultimately the choice was left with the parent whether or not they wanted to bring their children with them.
Now, before you say, “This is horrible, breaking up families,” think about what we do when a parent is convicted of rape, murder, or other heinous acts. They’re put in jail. Their children are not put in jail with them. Thus, the family is separated.
If we were to adopt a position that illegal aliens have a lifetime right to American residency simply by having a child on American soil, we will, in essence, have become an open border.
There are consequences to coming over the border illegally. Some of them are very painful.
The alternative of allowing an open border is even worse.
