A fire broke out over the weekend at a children’s care facility in Syosset.
On May 4 at 4 p.m., Nassau County police officers responded to MercyFirst, located at 525 Convent Road. Upon arrival, they observed a fire in a classroom on the second floor.
The Syosset Fire Department, along with the assistance from the Hicksville Fire Department and other neighboring fire departments, responded
to extinguish the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb
Squad also responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported. The fire was not considered suspicious.
