A car crashed into a home in Wantagh after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

On April 20 at 5:40 p.m., Nassau County officers from the First Precinct responded to a Douglas Avenue residence for the report of a vehicle that struck a home. Upon arrival, it was determined that an 80-year-old female operating a 2013 Toyota lost control of her vehicle and struck a small tree, causing it to fall and shatter a front glass window in the home. The residence was occupied at the time by a female, 30, who received minor injuries. She was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The operator of the vehicle was also transported to a nearby hospital. The Nassau County Building Inspector responded to the location and deemed it structurally safe.
