
Suffolk County officers arrested a 15-year-old male after he allegedly stabbed his mother and fatally stabbed his grandmother in Selden.
On April 7 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Vanessa Chendemi, 36, ran out of her home, located at 802 Town Road, after being allegedly stabbed by her son. A passing motorist stopped to help, and Chendemi got into the car, where she called 911 to report the incident.
When officers reached the scene, they found Concetta Chendemi, 56, inside the residence with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Vanessa Chendemi was brought to a local hospital in stable condition.
At 11:22 p.m., officers arrested the 15-year-old, who had fled the scene after the stabbing at Dare Road and Buckskin Lane. The boy was charged with murder in the second degree and attempted murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court on April 8.
