
An employee at an Eastport smoke shop has been arrested for allegedly illegally possessing and selling cannabis.
On March 25, in response to complaints from the community, Suffolk County police executed a search warrant at Sam’s Eastport Tobacco Shop, located at 498 Montauk Highway. The officers seized over 1,470 flavored nicotine vape products in addition to THC cartridges, cannabis products, money, cannabis, and materials for packaging cannabis.
An employee at the store, Ricardo Uceda, 21, of Eastport, was charged with the following:
- Unlawful Sale of Cannabis or Concentrated Cannabis
- Unlicensed Cannabis Sale
- Sale of Flavored Products
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
The Office of Cannabis Management and the Town of Brookhaven issued violations to the shop. Uceda was released on a desk appearance ticket and will appear in First District Court.
