Alzheimer’s Group Hosts Education Conference

The Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (ADRC) will present its 2025 Education Conference: The Arts & Dementia – Creating Connections Through Creativity, taking place on March 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be held at the Stony Brook University Activities Center, located at 100 Nicolls Road in Stony Brook.

This unique event will explore the transformative role of the arts in dementia care, offering hands-on experiences and expert insights for caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members.

The conference will feature a live band playing favorite hits while educating attendees on the health benefits of music, Individuals living with dementia sharing their experiences and perspectives and interactive sessions on:

  • Validation Therapy – Strengthening connections through compassionate communication
  • Music Therapy & Dance – Harnessing movement and melody to enhance well-being
  • Visual Arts & Expression – Unlocking creativity as a tool for engagement and self-expression

Attendees will leave with practical tools and fresh perspectives to improve dementia care through creativity. Plus, the event includes free parking, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and valuable networking opportunities with experts and advocates.
