A Hicksville man was arrested for assaulting another man with a chair during an altercation that happened in Franklin Square.
On March 3 at 12:40 a.m., officers responded to 505 Franklin Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Mandeep Singh, 30, of 81 Center Street, was arguing with numerous people. As the argument escalated, Singh grabbed a chair and struck a 28-year-old male victim in the head. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
Defendant Singh is charged with second-degree assault. He was arraigned on March 3 at First District Court in Hempstead.
