A Queens man has been arrested for his role in a hit-and-run in 2024 that seriously injured a 91-year-old man.
On January 1, 2024 at 5:12 p.m., a 91-year-old man was attempting to cross Mineola Avenue in the vicinity of Hillside Avenue in Roslyn Heights when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV traveling northbound on Mineola Avenue. The driver, Fariddun Djumaev, fled the scene. The pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he was in critical condition.
On February 13, 2025, Djumaev, 39 of 6615 Wetherole Street, Rego Park was arrested for the above Vehicular Accident. Djumaev was charged with leaving the scene of an incident causing serious injury. Djumaev was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on February 13, 2025.
