Man Arrested for Trying to Lure Girl into Car

Officers arrested a man for attempting to entice an 11-year-old girl to get into his car.

On Monday, January 27, at about 3:05 p.m., the girl was walking down Patton Avenue, near 26th Street in Wyandanch, when the man driving a 2007 gray Chevrolet stopped and tried to convince her to get inside. The man, identified as Galo Macasfreire, offered the girl candy, which he had rubbed near his genitals in exchange for her joining him in the car. Later that afternoon, at 3:30 p.m., Macasfreire, 38, was arrested.

Macasfreire of 21 South 31st Street., Wyandanch, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arranged at First District Court in Central Islip.
