Teen Arrested for Stabbing at Mall

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for an Assault that occurred in Valley Stream.

On January 24 at 12:30 p.m., the defendant, a 17-year-old male juvenile was inside the Macy’s store located at 1000 Green Acres Mall where he got into an argument with a 17-year-old male victim. The argument escalated, and the defendant took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm and back. The defendant then fled from the scene.

Responding officers from Nassau County Fifth Squad located the defendant nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition. (Due to their ages, the names of the defendant and the victim cannot be disclosed.)

The defendant is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned on  January 25 at First District Court in Hempstead.
